THC Crystals: What Are They Really and How to Make Them

If you’ve ever seen diamond-looking bits inside concentrates like live resin or sauce, your first thought might be that they’re THC crystals. Makes sense, they definitely look the part. But what you’re actually seeing is THCA, short for tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. That’s the raw form of THC before any heat hits it. The only real difference is that THCA carries an extra carboxyl group (COOH) on its molecular chain. Under the right conditions, those molecules stack up to make the crystal like structures you are seeing.
