Role Summary

You will be the hands-on Electrical Engineer II for all new product development (NPD) programs, from initial whiteboard sketches through pilot runs and sustaining support. Expect a mix of PCB design, embedded controls, automation troubleshooting, and cross-disciplinary problem solving. You’ll also drive component sourcing strategies (domestic & international) and collaborate daily with a small, motivated team of mechanical designers, firmware developers, and operations staff.

Key Responsibilities

25 %

Electrical Engineering & PCB Design – Architect, simulate, lay out, and validate mixed-signal PCBs (microcontrollers, power electronics, sensors, comms). Create complete documentation (schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings).

Automation & Controls – Design PLC/HMI or micro-controller-based control schemes; program, tune, and debug PID loops for heating, motion, and safety interlocks; troubleshoot field issues to root cause.

Sourcing & Supplier Management – Identify cost-effective components, negotiate with vendors in the US, EU, and Asia, qualify alternates, and ensure compliance with UL/CE and cannabis-industry requirements.

Project & Cross-Team Collaboration – Drive electrical work-streams within Agile NPD projects, maintain schedules, interface with mechanical/CAD and firmware peers, and report progress to leadership.

Continuous Improvement – Establish best practices for DFM/DFT, develop test fixtures, and mentor junior engineers or technicians.
