6 More Tools We’ll Never Sell You (But Every Hash Lab Should Have)

A while back, we shared a list of six off-the-shelf tools we use in the Lowtemp lab every day. They weren’t flashy or branded, but they made our work easier, cleaner, and more efficient. That post got a great response, so we’re back with six more lab essentials we swear by.
We still don’t sell these products. We just think they belong in every serious solventless lab.
1. Tempify Humidity and Temperature Sensors
Tempi.Fi Temperature and Humidity Sensor
The first product is this Tempi.fi humidity and temperature sensor. Place these little devices inside your freezers or fridges to be notified if your unit ever has a malfunction. They’re about $40 and can save you thousands in lost fresh frozen from equipment failure.
2. Water Sensors
Next we have water sensors. These are absolutely critical for both indoor growers and solventless producers since we deal with water often. The last thing you want is a float valve failing, a pipe bursting, or a leak flooding your grow or lab space. Place these around your reservoir, RO system, or any water lines, and avoid unexpected floods altogether.
3. Stainless Steel Tray Cart

Product number three is a stainless steel cart perfect for various tools, but most importantly, Harvest Right freeze dryer trays. We selected this cart specifically for its size and the fact that you can fit up to nine large or six XL Harvest Right trays on it. It has little side walls to keep your trays from sliding off if it gets bumped, and is a perfect addition to minimize your trips back and forth to the freeze dryer.
4. Alcojet Powder Degreaser

Alcojet is an ideal sidekick to your ultrasonic cleaner. Simply add this powder to the water according to the dosage instructions on the package, and allow it to passively degrease and clean all of your stainless and glass components like jars, clamps, fittings, and gaskets. It’s important to remember that this is a degreaser, not a sanitizer or disinfectant. However, it’s unbeatable when it comes to removing baked-on hash and grime. A $50 box will last you well over a year with heavy usage.
5. Panda Dryer
Another Swiss Army knife we keep in the lab is a Panda Dryer. These little dryer units have a 3,200 RPM max rotational speed. Think of them like an extremely cheap small centrifuge. We use them to dry all of our microfiber towels that we wash and reuse, but they can also be used to dewater your biomass after washing. This helps reduce the intense rotting smell and massive weight of trashing your biomass if it’s going to waste. It also gets your material about 95% dry if you're planning to follow up with hydrocarbon extraction.
6. HEPAilter Air Scrubber
The last lab essential is a HEPAilter air scrubber. Not only does this help cut down on smell in the lab, but it also helps scrub your air inside of a clean room. This removes particulates from the air such as dust, hair, pollen, and other airborne contaminants above 0.3 micrometers. Whether you're washing, pressing, or packaging, cleaner air supports cleaner hash. Keep in mind that this unit is sized for approximately 400 square feet. If your space is larger, you’ll want to pick up multiple units for proper coverage.
Final Thoughts
We build hashmaking equipment from the ground up, but we also know what makes a lab run smoothly day to day. These tools won’t come in a Lowtemp box, but they’ve earned their place in our facility.
