FAQ

Do I need to use the bluetooth dongle in the box?

No, you don’t. We include it for two reasons.

1. Your computer may not have a bluetooth dongle on it already.

2. The dongle you have could potentially be incompatible with our bluetooth OR there is a driver error on your computer. This device fixes both issues.

I plugged in the bluetooth dongle into my computer, and I still can’t see the LT3 inside the app.

Try disabling your stock bluetooth driver as it may be in an error state. Allow the new bluetooth dongle to become the primary contact. If this does not fix your issue, please contact customer support.

Step 1

Make sure our bluetooth adapter is unplugged from your computer.

Step 2

Open Windows Device Manager.

If you’re running a version of Windows that has a search bar in the start menu, you can type “Device Manager” in there and click on the result.

If you have an older version of Windows, you can open “Control Panel” and search for “Device Manager” there.

For more help on finding Device Manager in your version of windows, you can use this resource: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht117792-launch-and-start-device-manager-for-microsoft-windows-7-8-and-10

Step 3

Disable your onboard bluetooth adapter

In “Device Manager”, locate your onboard bluetooth adapter and disable it. On this computer, our onboard bluetooth adapter is called “Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)”. Highlight it, and disable it by pressing the icon with the down arrow (highlighted)

Tip: In the bluetooth section, you might see a number of different devices. We only need to disable the faulty adapter. To help identify which one to disable, look for ones that have a warning symbol in their icon

Additionally, you can click properties and check for ones that have an “Advanced” section with “Bluetooth Radio Information” - builtin bluetooth adapters typically have this section.

Step 4

Plug our bluetooth adapter back in.

If you still have Device Manager open, you can verify success if you see “Realtek Bluetooth 5.0 Adapter” appear, with no warnings in the icon.

My hydraulics are losing pressure.

This is absolutely normal. There are a few causes for this.
1. It could actually be a function of the same system in which we monitor extraction end point detection from! As mass leaves the plates (rosin), the pressure drops. This is how we are able to monitor and estimate when the extraction is fully complete.

2. If you are not pressing rosin, and just closing the platens with nothing between them and are seeing significant pressure drop, there could be air within your hydraulic system, in which case it’s extremely simple to bleed the system of it’s air. This requires no tools, just an elevated surface. A small gradual pressure drop is completely normal within a hydraulic system. This can be between 10-50 psi every 10 seconds or so.

3. If you have nothing between the plates, have bled the system of air, and are still seeing significant pressure dropping, please contact Lowtemp Customer Support with a screenshot of the software, press data logs, or simply a video recording of the pressure dropping so we can diagnose and fix your press!
